Surfing Heritage and Culture Center

Football has long been celebrated as small town America's favorite hometown sport. However, in our little Spanish Village by the Sea, surfing has given football a run for its money. Perhaps the best way to experience the colorful surf culture we have here in San Clemente is by visiting the Surfing Heritage and Culture Center (SHACC). This non-profit organization is devoted to preserving, protecting and promoting surfing's heritage for the appreciation and education of current and future generations. The SHACC has plenty of exhibits to keep you busy including a display showcasing the original camera, tape recorder, and photos used for Bruce Brown's famous documentary The Endless Summer. There is also a very impressive collection of surfboards that date all the way back to 1900. For more information, visit the link here.
